The City of Three Rivers is seeking applicants for the position of Assistant Water Superintendent. Under the direction of the Public Services Director, this position will be responsible for the hands on operation and maintenance of the City’s drinking water production, quality, distribution, storage, and metering system. In this capacity, the individual keeps the City’s water system in compliance with State Act 399 and Federal Drinking Water Act and all rules and regulations established by governing agencies. Employee is also responsible for the supervision of the water system operators.
This position is a succession planning position, and the incumbent will train aside of the current Water Superintendent for approximately six months. It is anticipated that the incumbent will assume the responsibilities of the Water Superintendent position at the time of retirement of the current Water Superintendent.
Candidates must have strong management and supervisory skills, outstanding written and verbal communications skills, a solid working knowledge of computers and related business software programs, strong delegation and organizational skills, a proven record of goal-oriented project accomplishment. Candidates must also have specific working knowledge of EGLE regulations and requirements. Additional requirements include S-2 and D-2 EGLE Drinking Water Operators License. This is a full-time hourly position.
